Founded by two shop operators with nearly three decades of combined digital experience, including time at Google, you've never heard an automotive podcast like this. Joe and Alex met nearly a decade ago and have spent their time together digitizing Gateway Auto, Joe's family's shop in Omaha, Nebraska. Today Gateway Auto is a multi-shop operation but it didn't start that way. Joe, a former Googler and tech leader, hired Alex, a digital native and gearhead while he was traveling the world advocating for a safer internet and better privacy standards. Alex's job was simple back then: help Gateway improve their marketing website, get on Google and do some of the basics needed to market the business. Challenge accepted. Mission complete. Not long after, Alex identified a list of ways Gateway could do better and the two worked to bring these ideas into the shop. Together, they used their digital know-how to help Gateway Auto transform from a paper-and-pencil single shop operation to a mid-sized multi-shop operation that provides good jobs and community impact while balancing profit and innovation.
