At Learning InspirED, we are facilitators, assisting passionate educators in the creation of learning environments where both students and educators thrive. We believe that by granting students and teachers greater agency in ways that harness the power of curiosity and the inherent desire to understand the world, we can reset conditions for students to once again value and cherish learning as a natural, enjoyable, and important aspect of life. And in so doing, reestablish their belief in the themselves." - Mike Nicholson, PhD Founder, Learning InspirED Offerings: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Tailored to meet the specific needs of each school or district, our sessions focus on the "why, what, and how” of developing student agency. FIRST FRIDAYS: Each month, we host online sessions featuring respected experts who provide unique perspectives on student agency and autonomy. MONTHLY HUDDLES: Educators come together in one of eight peer-led virtual huddles, connecting with like-minded teachers and administrators from across the country to share strategies, challenges, successes, and resources in support of student agency. STUDENT POWER SUMMIT: Once a year, educators from all corners of the country convene to deepen their understanding of the challenges to, benefits of, and conditions necessary for developing greater student agency. RESOURCES: Learning InspirED offers a wide range of resources on culture, curriculum, instruction, and assessment – all designed to establish positive education environments where students and educators prosper and once again enjoy learning and teaching. 3D ENVIRONMENTAL SCAN: Through consistent primary research, we scan the education landscape to identify the challenges and opportunities for supporting student agency in school systems.
