About Lee BIA Builders Care

Builders Care is a non-profit organization founded by the Lee Building Industry Association in 2005. The mission of Builders Care is to provide emergency construction services at no cost to needy and deserving elderly and/or disabled homeowners, and their families, who cannot obtain repairs through traditional means. Builders Care exists to improve the quality of life for these deserving Lee County residents. Recipients are elderly and/or disabled individuals of all ages who are in financial need and are living with housing conditions that pose a safety or health threat. Builders Care projects range from handicap accessibility, roof repairs and replacements, building wheelchair ramps, HVAC repairs and replacements, electrical and plumbing repairs and extensive repairs due to unsafe conditions. Builders Care offers this full range of home repair and renovation services by enlisting the expertise of contractors, sub-contractors and businesses. The purpose of Builders Care is to promote safe and healthy housing for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Recipients are referred to Builders Care by a variety of charitable organizations, doctors’ offices, social service agencies, churches, neighbors, friends and the community at large. Each applicant is closely evaluated by staff and governing board members. Builders Care is funded through financial donations, fundraising events, grants, and donated services and materials from contractors, subcontractors and businesses. Builders Care makes a difference in the lives of homeowners in need by providing these life-changing renovations at no cost to those who could not otherwise afford it. Through support from the community, Builders Care is able to fulfill its mission and leave long-lasting impressions with the individuals and families in need.
