About Leeds University Union Motorsport Society

LUU Motorsport is a society and official Gryphon Sports Club at the University of Leeds. Founded in 1988 by world-renowned racing driver Johnny Mowlem, the society has become the home of all things motorsport for students studying in the Leeds area. We compete in the British Universities Karting Championship, run our very own karting championship dubbed the Tour de Yorkshire, host Motorsport viewing parties and run various socials including attending Motorsport events, pub quiz nights and club nights. Our most recent achievements include 2nd in the BUKC 2020 and 2019 seasons and the success of our very first women's-only event to promote diversity.
