About Legacy Cakery
It started in 2006 with a love for baking, a spark of inspiration from Food Network, and a simple desire to bring joy to others through dessert. That’s when Legacy Cakery was born. Today, I’m the founder and creative lead behind Legacy Cakery, an online dessert shop known for handcrafted cake jars packed with bold flavors and nostalgic charm. We ship nationwide and specialize in curated dessert gift boxes that turn birthdays, holidays, and everyday cravings into something special. Over the years, I’ve evolved from custom cakes and dessert tables to launching our signature mini cake jars, which are baked fresh and layered to order. Our jars are perfect for gifting, events, and parties, and each one is packaged with care to ship safely across the U.S. I love being part of people’s celebrations, and hearing “that was the best gift I’ve ever gotten” never gets old. If you’re a fellow creative, baker, or business owner looking to connect, collaborate, or just swap ideas, I’d love to hear from you. Do you remember the armadillo groom's cake from Steel Magnolias? Well, Ms. Paula was making the signature dessert of the South, red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The recipe seemed easy and Melissa decided to try out the recipe over the weekend, for her then fiancé, now husband's family, since Melissa knew red velvet is one of their all-time favorite desserts. After re-creating that recipe, Melissa was hooked and I've been a baking fool ever since. As word of mouth is a powerful advertising tool, things began to snowball from there. Since Melissa loves baking so much, she decided to turn a hobby into a new venture as she builds a legacy through cakes.
