n June 1981 Peter Grant and Dennis Cheall, the directors of Leicester Floors, started business from a small shop in St Georges Street, Durban. It was not long before the dynamics of the business changed from a domestic to a commercial/contracting business with large flooring projects being undertaken throughout KZN. During this time, growth occurred outside the city and it became essential to follow the trend and move with the times. After three years the company relocated to its own premises at Union Lane, Pinetown where it remained until 1991 before moving to brand new facilities at Imola Place, Westmead. The location is close to the main arterial roads, enables good access to Durban and towns throughout KwaZulu-Natal and the rest of South Africa. The company has the support of a loyal, long serving staff who remain one of its greatest assets. Dennis retired in 2012 and the business is now run by Peter. They have likewise enjoyed the support of a wide range of customers from Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Building Contractors, Corporate and Retail clients, Government, Property Developers and Homeowners. The business has grown from the best possible base of “repeat or referred business” from previously satisfied customers. The company continues to remain up to date using new electronic technology, trends and innovations in the Flooring Industry and strives to be the very best.
