About LeisureEase

Growing up in a home with a mom who was an expert in flat pattern design and clothing construction, sisters, Lisa Beaty Bishop and Carla Beaty Collette, learned to design and sew very early on. These skills fostered a creativity in the sisters that served each well throughout their career and family lives. Then, in 2009, Lisa and Carla joined forces to form LeisureEase, LLC to design and develop cut-and-sew products for the outdoor leisure and recreation, pet and household product markets. The flagship product for LeisureEase, LLC was developed to accommodate Lisa’s anti-social Shih Tzu, Pelé, who would often end up tangled beneath her outdoor folding chair while at her daughter's soccer games. Lisa had toyed with the idea of taking a crate to the games, but that would have been just one more bulky item to drag along, keep track of and have underfoot. One day, while working on another project, Lisa noticed the framework of an open scissor-legged camp/quad chair on the deck. In her mind’s eye, the large cubical beneath the seat of the chair (where Pelé hung-out anyway) suddenly became a safe, secure, pet crate. The perfect hideaway for her pup! She immediately went to work covering the space in tough, durable materials, including heavy pet-mesh walls and coated waterproof flooring. Lisa and Carla perfected the design, secured three utility patents, procured manufacturing and Wrapsit™ slipcover crate was born. The team has recently developed and received patent-pending status on a product designed to add convenience, style and functionality to outdoor folding director-style chairs.
