Lekker Lekker is a mobile, Amsterdam style 'Snackbar' business situated in Melbourne. It serves various types of Dutch foods and other delicious European snacks including Oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts), Belgian Frites in a cone, Kaassoufles (Cheesesoufles), Spicy Jalapeño Poppers, beef Bitterballen, Beef Croquettes and Shoarma (Amsterdam Pita's). The business was founded in 2012 because of my deep passion for food and simply missing the concept from Amsterdam. Every 2 years I would go back to Amsterdam and think to myself, "Why don't we have this back in Australia?" There is nothing like it in Melbourne, I missed all my favourite food and the simple convenience. So in my second year studying Business and Economics at Monash University and working behind a bar, I decided to give it a go. I began experimenting at home, eventually buying a marquee and a bit of equipment with the money I had saved and set up my first pop-up stall on the Mornington Peninsula. 'Damo's Dutch Donuts' was the first of its kind to do Oliebollen in Melbourne and i saw the demand grow. I realised that the name limited me to only one product and i already had the vision of what it could become, so i decided to register the name 'Lekker Lekker', translated in Dutch, German and South African to 'Yummy Yummy'. Since then we have expanded our operations at different markets, festivals and events around Victoria each week. Quality, consistency and great customer service is what has driven my passion, my vision and in my opinion is the recipe to a successful food business. We are also very fortunate to have such a passionate team that shares my vision and is excited as I am to see Lekker Lekker grow. We are expanding into the Melbourne Food Truck with our first truck to be completed in begin 2016. From there the Lekker Lekker team is on a mission to grow, expand and share our passion of unique Dutch and European food with as many people as possible.
