About Li-ion Energy
At Li-ion Energy, we operate a dual-tier circular business model with a unified goal: increasing Australia's battery recycling rates by making recycling financially viable for businesses. Tier 1: Battery Dismantling and Recycling Support -forms the foundation of our model by supplying materials for Tier 2. It includes: Bulk dismantling and recycling services: Positioned between waste management companies and traditional end-of-life (EOL) recycling plants, we dismantle and sort batteries before they reach EOL recyclers. This technical process results in lower EOL processing fees for us. We pass on the savings to our clients , enabling higher margins for them, increasing the attractiveness of battery recycling and fostering for a higher margin and We de-energise and dismantle all battery packs, supplying only individual, ready-to-process cells to recyclers. This reduces their handling time, safety risks, and processing costs. Cell viability assessments: During dismantling, our Battery Assembly Technicians inspect and conduct initial testing on each cell. Viable cells are sent to our Cell Processing Department for reconditioning, following our proprietary processes and strict selection matrix. Reuse of cells is subject to contractual obligations with clients and recycling partners. Cells deemed beyond reuse are wax-dipped on the positive terminal for safe transport and sent to recycling facilities for responsible end-of-life processing. Tier 1 relies on Tier 2 to extract maximum value from recovered materials, ensuring the commercial sustainability of the recycling process. Tier 2: Battery Building and Reconditioning Division Tier 2 focuses on manufacturing, rebuilding, and repairing batteries using both new and reconditioned cells. Our services include: Custom battery builds (new and reconditioned) Battery rebuilds and repairs for:E-mobility devices (e-bikes, e-scooters) Electric vehicles (EVs) Solar and off-grid energy and more. Step 3 under construction.
