About Liberals and Democrats for Nature and Climate (LDNC)

Liberals and Democrats for Nature and Climate (LDNC) is an independent organisation working to strengthen the liberal voice for action to restore nature and tackle climate change in the UK. It is the responsibility of every generation to safeguard the balance of nature and the environment, a principle at the core of the liberal movement. LDNC believe that effective environmental action is rooted in fairness and equality, democratically empowering people and communities to have their voices heard, while ensuring the UK champions action internationally. We believe restoring nature and addressing climate change is best done by dispersing power to the lowest level, allowing local communities to engage with and address the environmental challenges that impact their lives. At the same time, we must ensure that markets operate in a way that delivers both environmental and social benefits. We provide resources, ideas, and platforms to ensure these values guide practical solutions that protect our precious natural environment and confront the existential threat of climate change. We work with stakeholders and supporters from across the environment sector and liberal movement in the UK.
