About Lifework
Lifework is a specialist in building works: Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Plastering, Painting and Decorating, Grounds Maintenance and Internal Refurbishments. We have a fleet of 12 vehicles, all staff are enhanced CRB checked and Supervisors are qualified with a Level 3 in management or equivalent construction based qualifications. All environmental teams have CSCS cards. Lifework is Investors in People and Matrix accredtied along with other Construction qualifications such as CHAS and Constructionline. The Training & Development arm of our business has City & Guilds accreditation for Work based Horticultural Apprenticeships. We provide FREE ICT and work based, construction training opportunities for the local community. Lifework is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) - a charity. SCVO is an infrastructure charity that supports over 900 groups within the third sector. Lifework re-invests its profits into the local community through joint ventures with corporate organisations, community groups and other social enterprises. We also partner with the probation service to give opportunities to ex-offenders. These people are classed as being on the lowest ‘rung’ of the social ladder and are generally forgotten and left to re-offend. We give these people something to live for – we give them an opportunity. Our referrals from the Probation Service are only used on contracts that don’t have contact with the general public.
