The Lift up a Life Program aims to empower the youth to realize their potential by reinforcing three key pillars. Careers: The career decision starts in Grade 9 when learners make their subject choices, limiting/directing their higher education opportunities. Few adults recognize their “ideal job”, and yet this is the expectation of many learners. Compounding the issue is a significant inability to guide the supply of potentially skilled resources to the increasing requirement for specialized skills to drive the economy. The Lift up a Life Program provides extensive resources to aid in understanding individual skills, directing relevant higher learning, creating expectations about job experiences/challenges/satisfaction, through to methods to follow in finding and getting employed. Self-Employment: The Lift up a Life Program provides insight into basic and effective steps in successfully starting a business and directs participants to relevant resources required in doing so effectively. Social Development: The Lift up a Life Program aims to provide insight into the challenges and tools for overcoming these deep-rooted perceptions. The fundamental objective is to create a new-breed of social-entrepreneur who through their ability to advance themselves, takes an interest in doing the same for their family and the community in which they reside.
