About LIFT USA - Leading India’s Future Today
Leading India’s Future Today (LIFT) is dedicated to developing leadership excellence in motivated and talented youth in Tamil Nadu, India. LIFT provides quality education and a home environment for youth with high potential who would typically be denied schooling due to limited access to resources. LIFT students and staff are committed to transforming their society from within to help combat poverty, unemployment, and disease. Who we serve: LIFT educates on average of 75 children per year. Without LIFT these motivated and talented students could not afford a high-quality education. Students are from families living deeply below the poverty line; some of the students are orphans. Two thirds of selected students are female. LIFT is driven by three fundamentals: 1. Educate Children – Students in primary through graduate school attend LIFT. They attend high-achieving schools. Tuition, books, housing, food, clothing, and transportation are provided. 2. Create Leaders – Students participate in a comprehensive leadership development program. They are trained in solving, teamwork, and conflict resolution. 3. Transform Communities – LIFT changes lives. Instead of a life of hard labor and inadequate nutrition, students experience profound life changes and become able to support their families, educate their siblings, and provide support to their communities. Together, we make a difference.
