SouthEast Telephone was established in 1996 with the express purpose of becoming the hometown telephone company for all east Kentuckians. Our goal was to offer a complete telecom solution to customers who previously had only national corporate entities serving the local consumer market. Local community involvement and an intense belief in the importance of personal service are keys to the mission statement of SouthEast and our commitment to be the best corporate partner it can be. Lightyear began operations in 1993 in Louisville, Ky. In February 2010, Lightyear (OTCBB: LYNS) became a public company. In October 2010, Lightyear acquired SouthEast Telephone. Today, the company has operations in Louisville, Pikeville and Lexington. Lightyear’s customers include businesses of all types and size, including health-care services, banks, engineering firms, law offices, energy companies, schools, city and state governments, supermarkets, restaurants, and many others. Lightyear has longtime partnerships with the biggest providers in the industry, including Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, Windstream, Level 3, XO Communications, tw telecom, PAETEC, and others. These relationships greatly benefit our customers, who derive the cost advantages of multiple carriers and expanded capacity.
