About Likhon iThemba
Likhon iThemba, which means there is hope, is a registered Non-Profit and Public Benefit Organisation based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. We have 4 projects under our Likhon iThemba umbrella: • HOLAH (House of Love and Hope) Baby Home and Special Needs Home is a registered Place of Safety. Since June 2012 we have cared for more than 90 babies and children. Currently, we care for 8 children with special needs and 11 toddlers and babies. • Bowl of Plenty is a feeding scheme, catering daily to 120 children in Molweni KZN. • Vikela Baby Saver is a specialised receptacle for the safe and anonymous relinquishment of babies. • Charity Hop Shop is our income-generating project. We are a registered NPO and PBO with 18A status. Donations to us enable you to claim against your taxable income. Your support would make a significant impact on our work importantly a child’s life, and improve your Corporate Social Responsibly and B-BBEE status. As our beneficiary base is 100% Black South Africans, your donations qualify for SOCIAL-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT on the BEE scorecard.
