Linear Contracting Inc. was founded in 2002 with a very innovative idea in mind. We found a niche in the construction industry, and quickly captivated a new and untapped marketplace. At the time, there seemed to be an incredible demand for a union cleaning contractor to bridge the gap between the construction unions and companies who are looking to work on union projects but could not sign a full agreement with the unions. Many contractors often sub-contract the general conditions portion of their contract to us and Linear provides our clients with greater flexibility by performing the work with a union trade workforce. We introduced the idea to the local unions and forged an alliance, which has grown into a great working relationship. The response to our services was overwhelming and it soon spread to many local contractors, owners and developers, mostly signatory, but many whom were not as well. These contractors, owners and developers expressed a need for us to provide them with quality union labor (carpenters, operating engineers, etc.) on demand. Since our inception, we have been a member of the Building Contractors Association and assisted with negotiations with the unions whom we remain signatory to. We have made some major accomplishments and helped orchestrate one of the largest project labor agreements in NYC’s history. We have built a strong, solid relationship with the unions. Linear has come to be known as a company they know they can rely on. Whether signatory or not, all of our clients benefit from a liability stand point when subcontracting us their labor needs. Our specialty is providing top notch union men and women, all of whom are certified in many areas, as well as trained in 10 hour OSHA, some with 32 and 40 hr certificates.
