About Literacy Dr

Professional Development presentations are also provided for institutions seeking training in literacy intervention. What we offer is not a curriculum. We offer an understanding of the written structure of the English language. Central to our study of words are the four questions: 1. What is the word's meaning? 2. What are the word's relatives? 3. How is the word built? 4. What can we learn from the word's pronunciation? We use the scientific method to investigate words. We make hypotheses about the structure of a word, and we test those hypotheses through scholarship. Our students come away from lessons with a better understanding of the way our writing system works.
