About Live Music Society

Since 2020, Live Music Society has proudly championed initiatives that promote and preserve the performance and experience of live music. When the Covid-19 pandemic shuttered live music venues nationwide, we stepped in to meet an unprecedented need — providing emergency funding to help small, independent venues survive months of closure and reopen their doors to musicians and audiences alike. To date, we’ve awarded over $4 million in grants, supporting more than 180 venues across the country through 210 grants. These funds have helped sustain the heartbeat of live music in communities large and small, ensuring these vital cultural spaces remain a part of our shared American story. In 2025 and beyond, we’re doubling down on our mission to uplift small venues, spotlight their essential role in American music culture, and fuel creative ideas and innovations that will carry them forward. Through grantmaking, community-building, and resource-sharing, we aim to cultivate a connected, resilient network of venues where musicians and fans continue to come together to experience the magic of live music.
