I am a 55-year-old Gerontologist and Healthy Aging expert who coaches people one-on-one to help them look and feel their best at every age and every stage of life. I create content, both written publications in various magazines as well as video content across Live Young Lifestyle social media platforms, to help give a roadmap to optimal health. What qualifies me to be a "healthy aging expert" you may ask? Well, I am a middle-aged woman who has been living a healthy lifestyle for as long as I can remember - before "health and wellness" was even a field. I have a masters degree in psychology from Pepperdine University. I have a second masters degree in Gerontology (the physical, social and psychological study of aging) from USC. I am a certified Holistic Nutrition and Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC. And I recently obtained my 500-hour certification as a yoga instructor. I am passionate about teaching others how to age in a healthy way - to not just prolong their lifespan, but to prolong their healthspan. The population is living to record-breaking ages due to advances in modern medicine. However, living longer does not mean living disease and disability-free. In most cases, modern medicine is prolonging the number of sick years. However, there are so many behavior changes that we can do now in order to change that. We CAN be high-functioning, happy, active, socially-engaged people right up to the end. My goal is to show people that pathway.
