Livingstone Brown is a leading firm of Scottish solicitors. Established over thirty years ago, the firm has a very strong presence in Glasgow, and in Scotland as a whole. The firm has seven key practice areas, the largest of which is Criminal Litigation & Inquiries. The practice area covers all criminal work (including road traffic offences, summary prosecutions, jury trials and appeals) as well as inquiries (including public inquiries, fatal accident inquiries) and investigations (by the police or other agencies). The other practice areas are Family Law, Civil Litigation & Reparation, Child Protection (including referrals, adoptions and permanence orders), Employment & Contract, Private Client and Immigration. Livingstone Brown has a number of offices around Glasgow, but deals with business from around the UK. Over the course of the last two years, two of the firm’s partners have spent a great deal of time in London, which has allowed them to forge close relationships with high ranking firms and barristers in the city. The firm has long been in the vanguard of technology, using IT in a range of innovative ways. Client consultations by videolink are commonplace; evidence is analysed and presented electronically; and communications with counsel and the prosecution service are now largely conducted by email. This digital business model has allowed the firm to conduct complex and large-scale cases in different parts of the country.
