About Liz James Designs

Luxury handmade jewelry designed for Everyday, Everywhere. Our story began in Lubbock, Texas when our founder Jamie Pope decided to put down her dental instruments and start designing jewelry. As a girl, Jamie was shaped and influenced by her mother, sculptor and painter Rosie Sandifer, and her artistic talents and tenacious work ethic. Seeing her work around the world inspired Jamie to explore the possibilities of her natural talent. After pivoting from being a dental hygienist, Jamie started exploring with wire and family heirloom pearls given to her by her grandmother. When asked if Jamie could reengineer her gifted 'Jackie O' traditional pearl necklace, her grandmother replied "Make them yours, there are no strings attached." And the rest is history. For more than 10 years now, the Liz James studio has been nestled in the hills of Westlake, just minutes outside of downtown Austin. Starting with a piece of wire, we design and create jewelry to be worn everyday and everywhere you go. Why the name Liz James? Using a moniker of Jamie's name — middle name Elizabeth, and James her childhood nickname — simply made more sense. The Liz James Team is a close-knit team of women who work together to bring Jamie's designs to life. We are excited to share our story and jewelry with you!
