About LMDA

Lehrer Medina Design Associates (LMDA) is an interdisciplinary design studio operating at the intersection of architecture, design, computation, sustainability, and social research. Founded by Jacob Lehrer and Jennifer Medina, LMDA bridges emerging technologies with human-centered design to prototype novel design methodologies. Our work spans the built environment, spatial simulations, behavioral modeling, and visual systems. We develop both real-world architecture and speculative tools in unison, combining design precision with algorithmic thinking, grounded aesthetics, and ethical computation. At the core of LMDA is a belief that sustainability is specificity. Whether designing a dog daycare optimized through computer vision and Bayesian simulation or collaborating on responsive environments that learn from human behavior, we use design to develop adaptable, living systems.
