Localeyez is an online lifestyle magazine showcasing local businesses, creative individuals and entrepreneurs in Bruton and the surrounding area of South East Somerset. Localeyez was conceived by Phil Simpson, Creative Director, who designed the website and conducted the interviews. It was realised through his collaboration with photographer, Ben Taylor. This corner of Somerset is witnessing an explosion of creative ideas and business innovations. With so much going on, it is Phil and Ben's intention to create a central resource online, where it would be possible to browse a growing number of inspiring interviews. Localeyez publishes regular feature interviews focusing on a local creative, artist or entrepeneur. Each feature is based on a face-to-face interview and a dedicated photo shoot. They are designed to reveal the inspiration and creative energy behind each person, and to present them in a unique and stunning way. As well as the feature interviews, Localeyez also runs a community driven blog, where local writers and business innovators can share their ideas and unique stories. The format of the Localeyez website has been inspired by those eye-catching magazine layouts and coffee table books with their lavish images and elegant typography. It aims to bring that style of presentation to the web, whether viewed on a desktop computer, laptop or hand-held device. Ultimately, the aim of Localeyez is to provide local businesses with an eye-catching and compelling online presence, designed to help these businesses promote themselves beyond their geographic location, generate business opportunities and attract new customers.
