About Locopolis

Locopolis is a student-led group in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology that aims to bridge the gap between local and the ethnic minority community. We strive to create an empowering Hong Kong community through breaking down barriers, de-labelling ethnic minorities, and integrating the diverse student body in our university. We are a group of ambitious students who are committed to inspiring positive transformation in HKUST by bridging the gap of Hong Kong born students. We aim to do this through our on-and-off-campus activities and social media platforms to showcase the life of a HK(UST) individual and provide shared experiences as students navigate their university life. We envision to create a safe and supportive environment for the Hong Kong born community to feel belonged in the local society and embrace their cultural identity, driving them to explore their full capabilities and thus new opportunities. We hope to integrate the local community to create a more culturally diverse and inclusive community.
