About London Search and Rescue

The London Search and Rescue Team (LSAR) was formed in 2002. We are a 100% volunteer-based search and rescue organization serving South Western Ontario. We serve 10 police forces in South Western Ontario. London Search and Rescue can rapidly deploy highly trained search and rescue personnel at the request of any police authority. The team is available at any time to respond to calls in both urban and wilderness environments. These highly trained individuals receive training in ground search and rescue techniques as well as first aid, tracking, missing person behaviour, psychology of survival and various other topics. We also offer the AdventureSmart awareness and survival education presentations to children and groups including Scouts Canada, Girl Guides of Canada, school groups, and private requests. These presentations include Hug-a-Tree and Survive, PaddleSmart, and SurviveOutside. Our members donate their expertise, time and equipment to respond to missing or lost persons emergencies up to 150km away from London ON. Operational funding is provided by donations of money and equipment from individuals and businesses.
