About Lone Star PACE

Lone Star PACE serves as a program administrator for Texas’ Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy Program, or C-PACE. We partner with municipalities, lenders, contractors and developers to harness the benefits of C-PACE through the integration of sustainable building upgrades. Approved by the Texas Legislature in 2013, C-PACE financing provides low-interest, long-term capital for energy and water upgrades at new and existing commercial properties. C-PACE can be implemented at any part of the development process, from the initial capital stack to providing permanent financing for the retirement of construction debt. Eligible conservation improvements include LED lighting and electric systems, upgrades to building envelopes and windows, HVAC and associated mechanical systems, and water conservation measures, such as low-flow plumbing. C-PACE is established at the city or county level, which means jurisdictions must create their own voluntary participation program for commercial property owners. Lone Star PACE currently administers 21 PACE programs, which facilitate low-cost financing by qualified capital providers.
