About Loop Head Together CLG

Loop Head Together CLG is a grass roots initiative, supported by almost fifty local groups and organisations across the Loop Head Peninsula, West Clare. Our mission is: “To focus on sustainable development to ensure a viable and vibrant future for everyone across the Loop Head Peninsula” Our Aim is to develop Loop Head Peninsula to become a place where everyone can thrive. How can we increase the population sustainably and ensure a viable and vibrant community for our children and those who choose to live here. The purpose of having this group is to help address these challenges, as a united ‘community network’, and a legal entity, to provide the governance required to access public and private funding and to support the delivery, management and mentoring of peninsula wide projects - to focus on sustainable development to ensure a viable and vibrant future for everyone across the Loop Head Peninsula. A locally nominated ‘Steering Group’, has been formed, to be representative of the geographical and community spread of the peninsula. This voluntary committee support the voluntary directors of Loop Head Together CLG, in the delivery, management and mentoring of peninsula wide projects. Loop Head Together are involved in both the delivery of projects and the support of other local projects - and have, in the recent past, won two National Pride of Place Awards including the National Climate Action Award for their Hemp4Soil project. The Loop Head Peninsula is currently the pilot decarbonizing zone for Co. Clare under the remit of the local authority's Climate Action Plan . Loop Head Together CLG are currently facilitating the roll out of Ireland Mid West's 'Living Lab' Soilcrates (soil health) and have recently begun work on a new EIP called SCEENE - to demonstrate pathways to circular and sustainable farming practices.
