About LORC

Lindø Offshore Renewables Center (LORC) is one of the leading test centers for wind power technology supporting the green transition with state-of-the-art test facilities and infrastructure. LORC is a private and independent provider of test and validation services founded in 2009. LORC operates without profit as an objective. Our aim is to support the sector for renewable energy by improving product reliability and thereby reducing the levelized cost of renewable energy. LORC’s testing activities includes facilities for i) functional, ii) electrical and iii) highly accelerated lifetime test of wind turbine nacelles and drive trains, iv) for main and blade bearing testing, v) for fatigue testing of large structures, vi) for climatic testing of large components and systems and vii) test and demonstration facilities for industry scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). LORC’s nacelle and drive train test facilities constitutes some of the words most powerful facilities including our 14MW facility with a 21MW Grid emulator for functional and grid compliance testing, and our 16MW and 25MW facilities for highly accelerated lifetime tests. LORC’s bearing test facilities constitute some of the words most powerful facilities for testing of wind turbine bearings including our main bearing test facility and our blade bearing test facility for off-shore wind turbines. The facilities for component and structure testing are organized in the subsidiary company “Lindø Component and Structure Testing (LCST)” co-owned with FORCE Technology. The company hosts an outdoor strong floor for fatigue testing of large structures, and one of Europe’s largest climatic chambers for exposing components and systems to extreme climatic conditions.
