About Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair

As a 501 © (3) non-profit organization, the volunteers on the Science Fair Advisory Committee support, organize and operate an annual Fair for students enrolled in Los Angeles County public and private schools. Going beyond the textbook, students select a topic of interest to research and develop into a science project, for entry into competition at the Fair. With thirty-eight scientific categories from Biology to Physics, Environmental Management to Computers, students compete for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Honorable Mention medals in either the Junior or Senior Division and have an additional opportunity to win Special Awards and Scholarships. The annual Fair is also an opportunity for scientists, engineers and business leaders to network with the educational community, at both the teacher and student level, to exchange ideas and discuss career opportunities. The ultimate goal of the Los Angeles County Science & Engineering Fair is to promote science education in Los Angeles County and to encourage all students to pursue their interests in the respective fields of science.
