This unique coconut oil is from the lush and beautiful island of Timor Leste. Currently, coconut oil produced in Timor is below the international standards for virgin cold pressed oil despite Timor being known to have some of the best quality coconuts in the world. Lospalos Coconut Oil takes advantage of the natural quality and quantity of coconuts on the island, as well as the need for local employment to revolutionise the coconut oil industry in Timor Leste. Lospalos Coconut Oil was established by former Australian soldiers and peacekeepers, that have now returned to honour a debt that stretches back to World War Two when Timorese and Australians fought side by side. It is a sustainable and ethical business that provides Timorese women an opportunity to empower themselves through employment. By producing oil in remote rural areas, Lospalos also creates a market for local subsistence farmers who formerly had no way of earning money from their coconuts
