Lotte Advanced Materials USA, Inc. ("LAMU"), formerly known as Samsung Chemical (USA), Inc., is a US subsidiary of Lotte Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. ("LAM") for its chemical business. In early May 2016, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. transferred 90% ownership of its subsidiary, SDI Chemical Co., Ltd. (Chemical division of Samsung SDI) to Lotte Chemical Co., Ltd. Lotte Group established an independent corporation, LAM. Samsung Chemical (USA), Inc. was a subsidiary of Samsung Group established in 2001 with the full support of Cheil Industries, Inc. in Korea. Samsung Chemical (USA), Inc. operated as an independent American corporation engaged principally in sales and distribution of plastic chemical resins and solid surface materials, which were manufactured by Cheil Industries, Inc. LAMU took everything as is. We offer two main products, including but not limited to Starex (plastic resins) and Staron (architectural products). Starex product lines are primary used in televisions, cameras, and such office equipment as computer monitors and printers. It has also been adapted for use in home appliances including refrigerators, washing machines, telephones, and in components for cars and motorcycles. Staron product lines currently include Staron solid surfaces and quartz. Staron solid surface is a versatile, acrylic decorative surfacing material that has multiple commercial uses and is a popular countertop material in home construction and remodeling. The manufacturing process for staron solid surface has been certified by ISO 9002, the international quality assurance system, and by ISO 14000, the international environmental management system.
