About Loudoun Nature Conservation Project
Loudoun Nature Conservation Project (LNCP) is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Loudoun County, Virginia, dedicated to environmental restoration, education, and scientific research. Founded in April 2024 by a group of high school students who recognized the lack of youth-led environmental action in their community, LNCP was built to give students a direct role in conservation—both in the field and in the classroom. Our mission is to empower youth, restore nature, and foster community through environmental stewardship. We believe that meaningful change begins with local engagement and that students, when given the opportunity, can lead complex, impactful environmental initiatives. LNCP is anchored by four core pillars: Conservation: We lead hands-on ecological work including park cleanups, invasive species removal, and habitat restoration projects. Research: We design and conduct independent environmental studies focused on water quality, pollution, and ecosystem health. Education: We create accessible, student-authored educational materials on sustainability, biodiversity, and land stewardship. Connection: We serve as a liaison between schools, parks, and environmental organizations to foster student involvement and intergenerational collaboration. Rooted in action and driven by purpose, LNCP exists to protect the places we call home—and to ensure that the next generation of leaders is equipped with both knowledge and experience.
