An innate understanding of how it feels to wear jewellery, feeds Louise's dedication to creating pieces that are as comfortable as they are charismatic. Louise Sinclair is a qualified gemmologist and designer with over 25 years experience as a personal jeweller. She is deeply connected to both the global stone market and those who wear her creations. Her love of precious stones started when she was working with a collector. During that time she was handling Rubies from Burma, Emeralds from Colombia and Sapphires from Kashmir. Incredible stones that would never be mounted, only worshipped. This experience inspired her to study Gemmology and she became a Fellow of the Gemmological Association (FGA) and a Diamond member of the Gemmological Association (DGA) in 1988. Louise has been a designer of bespoke fine jewellery ever since, working with Theo Fennell before founding Louise Sinclair Design in 1994. Over the years, Louise has cultivated and maintained personal relationships with her clientele, especially those she has undertaken bespoke commissions for. She leads, designs and quality-controls all projects herself and as a result develops a close connection with her clients, their story and the sentimental role the bespoke piece plays in their lives. “I love taking stones forward; transforming the dated family heirloom locked away in a safe into a timeless piece worn and admired every day.” - Louise
