The mission of the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF) is to advance and support professional nurses in Louisiana through research, education, and serves as the philanthropic arm of the Louisiana State Nurses Association (LSNA). The Foundation was founded in 1986, and since then its primary focus has been to promote professional nursing through awarding academic scholarships, providing professional development, recognizing nursing accomplishments, and establishing and distributing funds for the Nurse Relief Fund. The purpose of this Foundation shall be to: Service: Support the quality of health care in Louisiana by the promotion, and improvement of nursing practice. Education: Promote education through advancement of nursing and health-related learning and scholarship. Recognition: Recognize nursing accomplishments within the profession and public at large. Research and Evidence Based Practice: Promote the development, implementation, and utilization of nursing research and evidence based practice.
