About Us Love Leeds Parks is a registered charity and forms part of a growing network of UK parks foundations. We support improvements to public parks and green spaces in Leeds for the benefit of residents and visitors to the city. There are 70 public parks in Leeds ranging from the larger ‘city parks’ like Roundhay, Middleton, Temple Newsam and Golden Acre, to local community parks such as Cross Flatts, Bramley, Horsforth Hall, East End and Springhead parks. The expression ‘green spaces’ refers to any public space that is largely green, so, as well as parks, it includes cemeteries, nature reserves, public rights of way, recreation grounds, woodlands and the like. We work in partnership with Leeds City Council who own and manage much of the public green space in Leeds, and Leeds Parks and Green Spaces Forum which provides a voice for communities who care about local green spaces. Love Leeds Parks does not manage parks or fund routine park maintenance work. Our impact By distributing over £23,000 in grants, Love Leeds Parks has supported 13 community groups to enhance public parks and green spaces in Leeds. This has only been possible due to generous donations from park users and businesses. Recently funded projects include the restoration of a heavily silted pond in Gledhow Valley Woods, tree planting to provide shade around a play area in Halton, and strengthening river banks in North Leeds to alleviate flood risk.
