About Lumatron Qatar W.L.L.
In 1961 Amin Wehbe, an Electronics Engineer, started importing Sylvania lamps to Lebanon. Three years later he joined GTE Sylvania as a regional sales Engineer for the Middle East and Africa. Finally, in 1977 he decided to start his own lighting business, and Lumatron was born. By 1999 the company had grown into a regional lighting player and is now providing central battery systems and turnkey theatre solutions. At Lumatron we experienced the evolution from the incandescent through the fluorescent, Then discharge lamps and halogen lamps, to the LED. We loved witnessing how technology transformed the light source from a crude and inefficient incandescent to an efficient, versatile and environmentally friendly LED. Lighting still has a long way to go to be able to come close to the dynamic natural light which our bodies need. Unlike the sun, Most light sources used now are static, with fixed location, intensity and spectrum. We are currently working on changing the LED lighting. Lumatron is a family run company that listens to its individual clients and addresses their needs with innovative products and solutions. Our clients become part of our family too and we love to make a difference in their lives by making available to them all our resources and passionately providing the most advanced and beautiful lighting solution possible.
