About Lumea

We’re a team of eyecare professionals changing the game in refractive and laser eye surgery. By viewing the journey through the lens of our patients, we are committed to always being at the forefront of advancements in surgery, innovation, and patient experience. Lumea may be relatively new, but our team of experts have been performing laser vision correction procedures for many years. Founded by Dr. Baseer Khan and Dr. Paul Sanghera - both nationally renowned ophthalmologists and pioneers in intraocular surgeries – Lumea was built on their vision for how patient care should be delivered. Just as each person’s eyes and prescription is distinct to them, so too should their patient experience. We chose medicine so we could help care for people, and that includes those who would otherwise not have access to proper eye care. While we have performed tens of thousands of surgeries on patients in Canada, it’s our volunteer work in third-world countries that is most rewarding. Having been involved in 500+ surgeries to date in six developing countries, we truly believe in the power of giving back. Along with our commitment to environmental awareness by making low-impact, earth-friendly choices in our clinics – selecting green alternatives whenever possible and reducing our carbon footprint – we live our principles in doing what’s right for our patients and our planet.
