About Luna + Sun the Label

We believe that the clothes we wear each day can play a big part in us feeling beautiful. We also strongly believe that we can achieve this without harming the environment, people and animals and without any compromise to the quality of our garments. Our first collection, Samaya (peace), was inspired by the earthy colours of our home town, Sri Lanka. Our second collection, Ahimsa, has been inspired by the ancient Indian principle of compassion for all living beings. In both of our collections, we have used linen fabric as this is biodegradable, strong, absorbent, heat resistant, hypo-allergenic, durable and requires much less water and chemicals to cultivate than standard cotton. We also only use natural plant-based fabrics which comply with the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex®. This certifies that our products are free from hazardous substances, such as toxic dyes and carcinogens, which ensures that our textiles are safe for people and the environment. The welfare of animals is something which we hold very dear to our hearts. We are committed to not using any animal products to make our garments which means they are free of silk, wool, cashmere and leather. We are proud be a 100% vegan friendly label who is accredited by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Our tote bags are also made from linen and all of our orders are hand-packed and sent in a satchel made from 100% compostable materials. We are also proud to use Sendle for all of our shipping which is 100% carbon neutral. All our clothing is proudly ethically designed, sampled and manufactured in Brisbane, Australia. We are also accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia.
