About LUVMI jewels

LUVMI is a brand of handmade jewelry, made with surplus cellulose acetate, a natural fiber, coming entirely from production leftovers. Cellulose acetate is often incorrectly called 'plastic' but it has a much nobler and natural origin as it is a plant-based, non-petroleum product derived from wood pulp and cotton. It is sustainable, non allergenic and virtually eternal, while also biodegradable. This is the material used by luxury fashion houses for manufacturing some of their accessories like costume jewelry and eyewear. Those offcuts or surplus, instead of being disposed of, are upcycled and used for each and every LUVMI jewels. I am very proud of giving this material a second life while creating contemporary accessories, entirely sustainable, that help elevate one's style. Inspired by the bold shapes of architecture, art and design as well as the accidental astonishing beauty of nature, each LUVMI jewel is completely made by hand in Italy.
