About LWCircus

LWCIRCUS.ORG - In 2016 LWCircus.org was founded - a non-profit, multi-national organization based in between Florence, Sardinia, Rome and Mexico City. The Organization has embraced a worldwide network of practitioners, researchers and artists supporting the LWCircus Shared Operative Program that focus on a design method based on social practices, experimental shared strategies for landscape renewal and cultural heritage valorization and social inclusion in the common space by multidisciplinary approaches, performative attitudes and artistic languages. The workshop LWCircusLabs, been operative, experiential and performance-based are transnational between the Mediterranean, Mexico and other MENA Countries, also created in collaboration with esteemed International Universities and other Cultural Institutions. The Program is focused on experimental methods and strategies of design and is based largely on social and cultural practices in the field. LWCircus aims to enhance sensitive areas and redesign contemporary rural and urban landscapes under environmental, social and economic transition. LWCircus looks for alternative tools and devices to activate sustainable development and responsible action through operative shared workshops, by the direct involvement of local communities, minorities and well known international practitioners (landscape architecture, dance and music, anthropology, art and architecture and other performing disciplines). The workshops stimulate the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge, information, attitudes, skills and real-world know-how through artistic expression and multiple forms of media. LWCircus outcomes have resulted in integration, cultural and economic development for local inhabitants and minorities involved.
