About Lydia House International

Together with our local partners in Liberia, West Africa, we are constructing Lydia House – a woman-led, woman-staffed residential home for girls and young women who are escaping human trafficking, gender-based violence, and exploitation. It is safe place for them to heal and grow spiritually, while they complete their education, learn vocational skills, and become strong and independent. Residents will also be instructed in women’s rights, and prevention/reporting of sexual abuse and harassment. We are also working throughout the African continent to raise the standards of women’s rights and justice through our Speak Out SGBV Prevention program. This hour-long awareness seminar educates local leaders on sexual harassment and abuse, harmful gender norms that lead to social inequalities, and how to create an effective reporting system for sexual abuse that protects victims and prevents further abuse. This resource is available for free to anyone and may be downloaded on our website.
