Receiving a diagnosis of a condition you hadn’t previously heard of or knew anything about is overwhelming, scary and deeply isolating. On top of this, when the road to that diagnosis is unclear, uncertain, and long, the experience can be traumatic. Unravelling the options for ongoing treatment for a life-long condition can lead to dead-ends, detours and bumpy roads. And while this is a common experience for many people living with lymphoedema – it doesn’t have to be. In fact, we are determined to turn this experience on its head, and provide the information, connection and support people living with lymphoedema need - we should know, we are a community of people with lived experience who have walked this path. We are committed to ensuring that no one walks their lymphoedema journey alone. And we will work to ensure that everyone’s path is paved with community awareness, treatment options and support from the community and health system alike – so everyone can live their best life. We're the Lymphoedema Association Australia and we are here with you. Every step of the way.
