About Mac Tíre Theatre

At Mac Tíre Theatre, we aim to make and promote writing and art which is bold, dynamic and joyful. We constantly challenge both boundaries of form and narrative, in order to develop work which is always playful, surprising and political. Whether that is a short story, an essay or a devised physical theatre piece, we want to tell stories which explore and reclaim histories and identities often marginalized and overlooked. Our passion is to develop work which ignites curiosity and intrigue within the audience. We love to ask daring questions, we love to dream big, and we love to turn traditional storytelling on its head, embracing mediums such as dance, music, spoken word, documentary and AV throughout our work.
