About Madelyn's Fund

Our Mission: Madelyn’s Fund supports Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients and their families, including those who experience the trauma of infant loss. Our Vision: To enable the highest need NICU families across the Carolinas to be present and focused on their family by relieving the unexpected financial stress of a hospital stay or infant loss. About: Madelyn’s Fund launched in November of 2016 and we assisted our first family on December 23rd, 2016. Since that time we have been honored to continue to provide support to NICU families across the Carolinas. How We Help: Madelyn’s Fund provides financial support for local NICU families in the following ways. 1. Everyday living expenses relating to the families’ NICU stay. Assistance includes transportation costs to and from the hospital, lodging and meals, baby supplies, and supplementing for loss of income by helping families maintain necessary household expenses, such as utilities, while they are unable to work. 2. Funeral expenses for families who experience the tragedy of infant loss. (ages 0-1) We currently serve families with a child in the NICU at Charlotte’s two main hospitals: Levine Children’s Hospital at Atrium Health Novant Health Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital Prisma Health Richland Hospital Prisma Health Baptist Hospital We also serve families of neonates in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Levine Children’s Hospital.
