About Madrona Recovery

Madrona Recovery is a 23 Bed Adolescent recovery center in Tigard Oregon, just outside of Portland in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We engage youth and their families in crisis in short-term, highly focused interventions to create a powerful transformative experience bridging crisis with opportunity. Our team consists of medical personnel, skilled clinicians, chemical dependency counselors, and experienced wellness staff. Madrona Recovery opens officially in the Fall of 2017. But it began much earlier. It began the first time a youth and family in crisis was not given the care they deserved. It began when values and practices in programs failed to include safety, transparency, and intention. It began when a small team of folks who for years had worked their hands and hearts to the bone in adolescent treatment began to have authentic, hope-filled discussions about a new way of delivering care. This planted the seeds for Madrona. We saw the youth, the families, the organization deserved more. Not only more but different. Almost unrecognizably different. That is our vision. All involved envision a unified, cutting-edge treatment experience that goes beyond traditional “rehab”. We are creating a viable, authentic living community. It's happening as we speak. Our symbol and inspiration is the Madrona, a tree native to the Pacific NW coast. It is our teacher. We honor its story. We acknowledge its rocky roots, that acknowledgment and acceptance are fertilizer for growth and change.It shows the resiliency in every client and family that passes through our door. It shows the power of community, the shared feast of care that truly alters lives.
