The Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Foundation (MYGHF) is committed to helping change the health outcomes of the most vulnerable patients with heart disease, particularly children in underserved populations. MYGHF supports the Magdi Yacoub Aswan Heart Centre (AHC) in providing state-of-the-art, 100% free-of-charge comprehensive, advanced cardiac care to the less fortunate regardless of their color, religion, or gender. In Africa, more than 2 million children are born every year with congenital heart disease. Sadly, most of them die due to lack of access to proper healthcare. In Egypt alone, out of the 16 thousand surgeries needed every year for children with heart disease, only 3 thousand are performed by all the hospitals combined, leaving thousands of children vulnerable and at risk for serious complications. The need is ever-growing. In response, MYGHF also supports the construction of the new Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre Cairo (MYGHC) to extend our reach in providing better heart care for future generations. The new MYGHC will enable us to scale up operations and meet patient demand. MYGHC aims to build on the Aswan Heart Centre’s legacy of excellence whilst quadrupling the scale of operations and capacity. MYGHC will have a significant impact, enabling us to help those in need at the right time. Located in Cairo, MYGHC will also ease accessibility for patients from all over Egypt and facilitate much more international collaboration. In addition to providing services to underprivileged patients in Egypt, we will be better positioned to help any of the more complex patients from MENA, GCC, and Africa. We hope to inspire you to join our efforts. Together we can bring greater hope and happiness to thousands of children and their families.
