About Mahegun Tails

Mahegun Tails Inc. (MTI) is an Indigenous family-owned organization that provides culturally informed facilitation and consultation services. Guided by the teachings of our Elders, MTI relates creation stories and cultural teachings as key elements in the delivery of services. Being a good relative is at the heart of our practice and as such, we strive to see the revitalization of Indigenous beliefs and values that support the wellness of our shared community. Our vision is to bring traditional knowledge to our Indigenous and non-Indigenous relatives. Mahegun Tails Inc. specializes in the following areas and services: Cultural workshops such as traditional drumming, drum-making, singing, and dance instruction; Indigenous cultural education and learning opportunities; community facilitation and the coordination of special community events featuring traditional Indigenous performance arts. Further to this, MTI operates from an Indigenous worldview in its consultation methods, research, and contracted writing and has conducted many community-based evaluation and research projects.
