Known as "The Celebration Engineers", MEI was, founded in 1988 and has since achieved national recognition for its seamless orchestration of mega events. MEI's founder Stephen Millard's expertise in managing multi-faceted organizations and special events was honed through a previous fifteen-year career of executive and general management experience with large world class hotels and resorts, operated by both the Hilton and Hyatt Hotels Corporations. MEI is an independent full-service planning and consulting company, specialized in designing and building, from the ground floor, major outdoor festivals and signature special events for its clients, sponsors and partners. Generally partnering with city, civic and/or downtown organizations, MEI has created and produced hundreds of major events with attendances ranging from 5,000 to 400,000. These spirited and successful citywide celebrations are generally free-to-the-public, underwritten by corporate sponsorship and designed to benefit business districts, urban neighborhoods and spur increased leisure economics and tourism. Using its network of local, national and regional sponsors, who consistently associate their brands with MEI's high-quality, professional productions, MEI has raised millions of dollars of sponsorship revenue and is highly acclaimed for its creative approach to aligning sponsor marketing objectives with those of the event.
