About MAIN - Together Raising Smiles
About MAIN Established as a registered charity in 2003, MAIN provides support to families across the North East who have children or young people—whether diagnosed or not—with autism, neurodivergence, mental health conditions, or other disabilities. Our diverse and dedicated team brings a wealth of skills, experience, and passion to their work. They offer first-hand support and advice—and most importantly, they genuinely care about the people and families they work with. MAIN offers a range of services, including short breaks, which give individuals the chance to develop new skills, make friends, and enjoy new experiences—while giving parents and carers a well-earned break. Our Personal Assistant (PA) service helps individuals meet their social care outcomes through the support of our highly trained and experienced outreach team. In addition, our team of qualified teachers—each with extensive experience supporting individuals with additional needs—delivers both accredited and non-accredited training programmes. These are offered at our bespoke training facility at the Finlay Cooper Centre in North Ormesby, or can be delivered directly at the client’s home.
