About Maison Particulière

Maison Particulière is a nonprofit art center created in 2011 by the initiative of a pair of art collectors, Myriam and Amaury de Solages, with the objective to exhibit artworks from private collections in a unique setting that reinvents the interior space of a private residence, thus creating a novel approach to exhibiting works of art. Maison Particulière took form out of their deep desire for sharing their joy of living among ancient and modern works of arts. Theirs is a creative project on a human scale, which gives them a myriad of options for expressing their boundless love of art, in a residence open to the public without previous appointment. As a way of enjoying art every day in a home environment, and by inviting art collectors to also exhibit select pieces from their own collection, Myriam and Amaury de Solages stimulate an individual response on the part of the viewer contemplating works of ancient or contemporary art. Consequently, Maison Particulière is not merely an outlet to exhibit their private collection exclusively. On the contrary, they present temporary installations grouping several contributors: collectors, artists and others, with a passion for the arts in common. Each installation features a main theme that serves as a thread to the subjective (and often unexpected) selection offered by the various guest-collectors. This unique space is truly a place to engage in exchange. Since its opening in spring 2011, Maison Particulière has welcomed more than 30.000 visitors. Central to their appreciation of the art center is the special atmosphere dedicated to conversation, thanks to the opportunity to settle comfortably, make oneself at home, and simply live with the art.
